The present work is published as the cover of the 1963 Signet books edition of Guilty Bystander by Wade Miller, which is one of the hard-boiled Max Thursday detective novels. Though the popular work was produced with many covers, none capture the noir femme fatale quite like this Mitchell Hooks. The work is accompanied by a print out of the cover.
