The present work is published as the the first American cover of The Blonde by Alan Yates, working under his immortal pseudonym Carter Brown. Already a literary sensation in the UK, Signet began publishing the works of Carter Brown in 1958, beginning with The Body and soon following on its runaway success with The Blonde. Not only is this Barye Phillips got all the provocative allure a collector could want in a hard-boiled pulp paperback cover, its got historic significance in the popularizing of Carter Brown for the American market. The present work is accompanied by a print out of the cover.
