The present work is published as the cover of Case and the Dreamer, and other stories by Theodore Sturgeon (Signet, 1974). Sturgeon is among the most influential science fiction and fantasy authors of the 20th century, remembered for his groundbreaking and humanistic stories which appeared in pulp and digest magazines from the 1940s-1970s. Admired by Kurt Vonnegut, he is one of the inspirations for Vonnegut's character Kilgore Trout.
