Costumes Parisiens was an exclusive historical document spanning decades of changing French fashion from the time of the revolution into the nineteenth century. The circulation of prints from Costumes Parisiens solidified Paris' place as an international fashion leader. Issued weekly with 52 issues per year, for a total of 1846. One hand-colored fashion plate was included with each issue, with occasional extra plates and supplements featuring both women's and men's fashions finely etched and hand colored.
