    Annette Lawrence earned a BFA from the University of Hartford and an MFA from the Maryland Institute College. She also attended the Glassell School of Art, and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Lawrence has had solo exhibitions at the Dallas Museum of Art, The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the African American Museum in Dallas. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Dallas Museum of Art, the Dallas Cowboys Stadium Collection, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and the Rachofsky Collection. Lawrence works primarily with wood and paper, and her pieces often incorporate written information, which she feels tracks the movement of everyday life. Her pieces are influenced by her life experiences and African American heritage.
