Hirst swept the world-and divided critics-in 2012, when his Spot Paintings showed at every one of Larry Gagosian's galleries worldwide. Those paintings were spare and orderly, painted mechanically; Cafe Royal goes back to a predecessor with a handmade look. Here are a riot of dots, competing for space, like cells under a microscope.
