Yaacov Agam is an Israeli artist known for creating abstract, polymorphic art that requires viewer participation. He established himself as one of the leading pioneers of kinetic art in 1955 at the group exhibition, "Le Mouvement", alongside such contemporaries as Alexander Calder and Jean Tingueley.
Agam strives to demonstrate the principle of reality as a continuous "becoming" rather than something that is static and immovable. He is responsible for creating a type of print called the agamograph which uses lenticular painting to present radically different images, depending on the angle from which it is viewed.
