Amy's View is a British play set between 1979 and 1995. Over the course of these 16 years, characters Esme Allen and Dominic Tyghe continuously butt heads over the virtues of traditional theater and other media arts. Esme, played by Judi Dench, is an established British actress who continues this running argument with Dominic, who is the boyfriend, and later husband, of her daughter Amy.

Amy's View ran in the West End in 1997 and 1998, before moving to Broadway in April 1999 for a limited run at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Amy's View played for 103 performances and was nominated for two Tony Awards for Dench and Samantha Bond, who played Amy. Dench took home the statuette for Best Actress in a Play.

This sketch by legendary artist Al Hirschfeld features Dench as Esme Allen. The sketch was first published in The New York Times on Sunday, April 11, 1999.

This giclée, part of an extremely limited edition, is printed on 15" x 18" hot press paper and has been generously autographed by Dench.
