200 B.C. - A.D. 400
Camelid, cotton fibers
Length 48 in. Width 36 in.
When worn, this now opened tunic showed two major design units from each view. Based visually on a rather steep-sided stepped pyramidal shape, the rows of four colors move at a slight diagonal across the loom widths. This produces a design that tilts as it moves out at the fringed lower edges. The colors are a deep cochineal red and three natural tones of dark brown, medium brown, and buff. The loosely woven textile is in moderately good condition, with some staining.
