Two Tairona Necklaces
Colombia, c. 900-1400 AD

The smaller necklace is strung with tubular carnelian beads, interspersed with carnelian globular beads and two blue-green disc spacers. The larger is composed primarily of tubular jasper beads, spaced with clay and stone disc elements. Both necklaces are fitted with modern gold clasps. A refined pairing, notable for the warm color and varied rhythm of the beads. Both in excellent condition.

Lengths: 9 and 14 inches

Estimate: $800 - $1,200.
