Description
A Seated Monkey PendantCosta Rica, c. 500–1000 CE
Carved in a compact, seated posture, the monkey is defined by its long, thick tail, tapering to a pointed end that anchors the composition. The stone shows a softly mottled gray-green tone with a smooth, satin. Conical drill holes at the base of the tail indicate its use as a suspended ornament. The form is both playful and controlled, with a subtle vitality held within its restrained geometry. In excellent condition.

The Vilcek Foundation
