Two Small Coclé Pedestal Plates
Panama, c. 800-1200 AD

Polychrome painted ceramic with bold geometric designs. Each plate is raised on a pedestal foot, giving the form an elegant lift and a clear ceremonial character. Though modest in scale, the pair has a refined presence, with the painted surfaces providing the visual richness associated with Coclé polychrome wares. A handsome and well-matched pair. Both in very good, intact condition.
