A Maya Polychrome Cylinder Vase
Mesoamerica, c. Middle Classic Period, c. 400-600 AD

Two large vertical panels with the image of the ancient Maya War Symbol or Tlaloc painted in orange, black and white. Separated by vertical row of glyphs and a glyph band encircles the top, all legible. In good condition, professional restoration on the lower proper left side of one of the War Symbol panels into the glyph row, hairline crack descending from rim about an inch and a half.
