    Description

    An Unusual and Rare Chimu Tapestry Figure
    c. 1100-1300 AD

    A camelid thread tapestry image of a shaman tumbling over or dancing in ecstasy. He wears a tunic with Xs in red and gold on tan ground, tan legs with red and gold dots, the figure outlined in red and gold. He also wears a crown and has a necklace or collar which is a two-headed snake. Once attached to a gauze cloth now missing. In excellent condition. Mounted to linen on stretcher boards.
