    A Moche Bird-Headed Drummer

Hollow earthenware with brown and cream paints. The head tilted up and the eyes hooded and beak downturned giving it an expression of serious and intense concentration. Elegantly formed stirrup spout at back. In apparently excellent condition, tiny chip to tip of beak, no other visible repairs or restorations.
