A Colima Musician
c. 250 BC - 250 AD

Hollow earthenware with burnished brown slip. The musician holding a rattle in his right hand and a flute or other instrument to his mouth with his left hand. Wearing a lateral crested helmet with flanges, head cloth down back of neck and shoulders, chin strap, waist band, loin cloth, back apron -- all incised with geometric designs. Spout at left side of helmet. In very good condition, visible repaired break line around neck.
