    In September 1970, Rauschenberg established the nonprofit organization Change, Inc., which provided small sums of money to artists for non-art emergency expenses, such as rent and medical costs. The organization was supported by contributions of art for benefit auctions. From then on, Rauschenberg donated the proceeds from the sale of one print in each new edition, such as this particular one, to Change Inc.
