Warhol, Andy:The name Andy Warhol evokes an era when rebellion and freedom affected the arts in unpredictable ways. Like all creative people, Andy Warhol sought to change society's thinking about art. He did this through extraordinary representations inspired by multiple artistic venues like commercial ads, music, movies and photography. Andy Warhol, at the peak of his career, was associated with some of the most well known celebrities like author Truman Capote, First Lady Jacquelyn Kennedy, and fashion designer Oleg Cassini. Warhol based his works of art on color contrasts as well as eclectic subjects. His famous painting of a Campbell's soup can is an example of centralizing visual art in a provocative presentation. Another was his colorful painting of the actress Marilyn Monroe. Edie Sedgwick was one of Andy Warhol's favorite models. Andy Warhol had a unique ability to transform the movie Clockwork Orange into a film titled, "Vinyl." He also filmed another movie titled "Horse." He dabbled between painting and sculpturing and producing and directing films over the course of his lifetime. He would be the crowned prince of pop art until his death in 1987. For the art world, a Warhol's art would forever be the origin of pop art, the label given to works of art that fell into a realm of its own. His unique character and style set the mode of the 1960s. He is credited with using the phrase, "15 minutes of fame." Warhol is remembered as a hugely talented innovator with unbridled creativity.
