The Blue Nude is one of very few nude pastels created by Rolf Armstrong, the Father of American Pin Up. This work was initially intended for calendar publication, but instead gifted to one of his models who held onto it until the 1990s. The same model featured here appears in Armstrong's other nude pastels, including his masterwork The Hollywood Venus.
