Just like Serge's portrait of Miles, this one of Jasper, holding up his black inked palm, defines the artist, who is both a painter and a master printer. Ink is the medium and the hand is what he works with. Each image with Serge Cohen is the apotheosis of the subject long before the image is made and long after the session is over. Cohen is a master photographer and is one of the subjects in my book, Penelope's Hungry Eyes. (Abe Frajndlich)
