    PROVENANCE:
    Gift of the photographer to Harris Radin, 1960.

    LITERATURE:
    T. Capote, Observations: Photographs by Richard Avedon, Simon & Schuster, 1959, p. 15, illus.

    Harris Radin assisted Avedon in his studio and traveled to Paris to help cover Harper's Bazaar's fall collections between 1959-1960. This and the following Avedon prints were given to him in 1960. Radin later opened his own studio and taught at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

    This lot is accompanied by a copy of the letter from the Avedon Foundation.

    Condition Report*: Unmounted with margins to an overall paper size of 14 x 11 inches; annotated 'R8' in ink with pencil notations verso. 1-1/2 inch crack in emulsion located 3 inches over and 3 inches up from lower left corner; undulation to paper, with one 1/4 inch crack along upper left edge; crease in lower right corner, outside the image area; one edge chip along right side; light surface scratching overall, only visible in raking light.
