Former NYPD detective and photographer John Botte began documenting the aftermath of 9/11 at ground zero. When asked which of his photographs he would want people to see when learning about 9/11, Botte chose this image. "It has a visual impact that to this day, when I stare at it, I just don't take my eyes off it," he said.


Condition Report*: Overall very good condition. Some scattered creasing to the sheet and margin, visible in raking light. Toning to the sheet, visible under UV inspection. Sheet is loose, not framed.
