Garry Winogrand came to lecture in Cleveland in November 1979, and I took some photographs of him which later appeared in my book on photographers, Penelope's Hungry Eyes. After the presentation, I spoke to him and expressed an interest in acquiring this photograph from his book, Women Are Beautiful, which appeared in 1975, and he gave me a number that I could afford. I sent him a check, and a few weeks later the print arrived.
