Bruce Davidson was only 24 years old when he visited the Clyde Beatty Circus at the Palisades Amusement Park in New Jersey. The photographs he began to take that day would go on to form part of Circus, a compelling chronicle of life under the big top. Clown Jimmy Armstrong is perhaps the most memorable character from the series.
