    Signed in pencil mount recto, with the photographer's San Francisco studio stamp mount verso.

    NOTE:
    Working with the Sierra Club, Ansel Adams took this and the preceding two photographs as part of a group of images used to seek the creation of a national park in the Kings River Canyon of the Sierra Nevada. His 1938 book Sierra Nevada: The John Muir Trail influenced Interior Secretary Harold Ickes and President Franklin Roosevelt to create an undeveloped car-free park in 1940.

    Condition Report*: Dry mounted to an overall size of 15.8 x 19.875 inches; not framed.  There appears to be scattered tiny surface indentations at the upper left corner, only visible under raking light; one hairline surface scratch at the lower center edge (approx. 1 inch long), as well as one near the upper right corner (approx. 1/2 inch); the mount has discoloration with toning throughout commensurate with age; otherwise, the print appears to be in very good condition.
