    Andy Warhol (American, 1928-1987)
    Andy Warhol's Personally Owned and Used Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera, 1974
    5-1/4 x 4-1/4 x 7 inches (13.3 x 10.8 x 17.8 cm) unfolded
    Chrome-plated with brown leather panels, 4-element 116 mm f/8 glass lens, focusing down to 10.4 inches (26.4 cm), automatic exposure system with a shutter speed range from 1/175 s to more than 10 seconds. Together with partially used Flash Bar 10 flashbulbs.

    Signed letter from John Wilcock, dated 2009, stating that Warhol gave him the camera around 1985-1986. John Wilcock (British, 1927-2018) was a close friend of Warhol's. Wilcock co-founded Interview magazine with Warhol in 1969 and published The Autobiography and Sex Life of Andy Warhol in 1971.

    Also included with this lot is a letter from Alexander Bitar History, a leading dealer in historical artifacts attesting to the authenticity of the camera.
