This fine point has been well-knapped and fashioned from a beautiful sandy brown-colored chert, with correct basal grinding and good mineralization. It comes with a certificate of authenticity and measures an impressive 3½ x 1⅛ inches. These effective tools may have been hafted to short wooden spears, although there is a striking lack of physical evidence. However, they have been discovered in the ribs of various Ice Age mammals such as mastodon and mammoths, testifying to their usefulness in primitive man's hunt for big game.
