    ZOE MOZERT (American, 1904-1993)
    My Dream Girl, 1939
    Pastel on board
    21.5 x 29.5 in.
    Signed at center

Circa 1934, Irresistible Beauty Aids commissioned Zoe Mozert to create a series of pastels for their advertising campaign. During this period, these renderings of beautiful, alluring women could be seen in pulp radio and movie magazines and were reproduced millions of times. One particular work caught the eye of the Ketterlinus Lithographic Manufacturing Company, and the company commissioned Mozert to create an exact copy of the now infamous My Dream Girl to be used in their 1940s calendar collection. This was Ms. Mozerts first work to be used in this manner, and the only work of Mozert's commissioned by Ketterlinus. At the time, the company was one of the premier calendar companies and it was their proud boast that their calendars sold in every part of the world.

Included with this masterful original is a rare intact 1940 salesman's sample as well as the cover of the 2009 book by Norm Platnick & Rick Huisking entitled My Dream Girl: A Collectors Guide to Zoe Mozert, a 1977 note card, and a full page 1936 Irresistible magazine advertisement. Also included are seven radio and movie magazines dated from 1936 to 1938 with full page ads on the back of the front covers of each issue using the Irresistible image of My Dream Girl, an autographed 2009 copy of the book My Dream Girl: A Collectors Guide to Zoe Mozert, two calendar tops, two 1980s lithographs, and a copy of an interview with Zoe Mozert by Marianne Phillips.
