    From the Dan Roberts Collection

    This was the preliminary painting for the paperback cover for You Play the Black and the Red Comes Up by Richard Hallas, Dell 510, 1951. This painting came from the Connecticut home of artist Howell Dodd, Jr., who was good friends with Victor Kalin.

    A copy of the paperback accompanies this lot.

    Condition Report*: No apparent condition issues. Framed under glass to an overall size of 20.5 x 16.5 inches.
