Clagget/Rey Gallery, Vail, Colorado, "Deep in Heart: The Landscapes of Bob Pummill", July 2012.

Born and raised in Ohio, Pummill first turned to painting full time after a stint in the Air Force and a career as a commercial designer and illustrator. He is a past member of the Cowboy Artists of America and served in several leadership positions for that organization. He has been a resident of Kerrville in the Texas Hill Country for many years and has an intimate knowledge of the light, colors, and forms of the landscape around his adopted home. Pummill has long been an accomplished visual historian of the Old West, telling stories of the men and women who settled on the plains and in the mountains to build lives and communities in a beautiful, but challenging land. With his latest emphasis on landscape painting, Pummill continues to present the West in its many variations. His landscapes, though created only recently, have a timeless quality. Having mastered the art of western storytelling, Pummill has now mastered the difficult task of capturing the western landscape realistically with great sensitivity and emotion.

This work will be featured in the upcoming text Under Texas Skies: the Landscapes of Bob Pummill by Michael Duty.

It would indeed have been much simpler to work with a local auction house, and we had local options. But we never once regretted going with Heritage.
