    PORFIRIO SALINAS (1910-1973)
    Untitled Hill Country River
    Oil on canvas
    28in. x 32in.
    Unsigned

    This well painted Hill Country river scene by Porfirio Salinas was damaged on the left edge by a candle which caught the frame on fire. The frame and painting were conserved by George Attal of Austin, Texas. Unfortunately, the signature was removed in the process of cleaning soot from the surface. A signed statement from the owner is included, as well as a copy of the restoration invoice.

    Bradford Paint Company (Salinas's dealer) (label attached verso)



    Condition Report*: Painting and frame damaged by fire. Artist's signature was removed when cleaning soot from lower left corner. Inpainting to left side in water and sky. Small hole in water (lower center). Painting has been consolidated with beeswax. Period frame in good condition. Fire damage to frame in lower left corner was repaired.
