Condition Report*:
Unlined canvas. A cluster of very small areas of buckling to canvas in lower right corner, most apparent under raking light. Stretcher bar marks faintly visible near edges under raking light. A horizontal line of abrasion, approximately 1-inch thick and 4-inches up from the lower edge, extending the width of the work. Scattered losses to this area, some with visible retouching. Some additional, less notable abrasions scattered throughout, but focused near edges, particularly the lower edge. Two slightly deeper, but not readily noticeable, scratches in lower right corner, one affecting the censer, the other the side of the open chest. Scattered instances of craquelure affecting dark green pigments, particularly those in left side of work, and to some dark red pigments near center. Some scattered small dots of discolored accretion and what appears to be errant paint. A few scattered small dots of loss visible upon close inspection. Scattered inclusions in the paint layer, original to production. Colors remain fresh and bright. This lot is offered unframed.
