Parrish used Susan Lewin's body as the model for this reclining figure. After it's production, Daybreak-indisputably Parrish's most important and iconic painting-was distributed as an art print throughout the House of Art, becoming the most successful art print of the 1900s, and secured Parrish's position as the most popular illustrator after WWI.

Condition Report*:
The foot has a minor crease; cut-out has been mounted to background board; good condition. Not examined outside of frame. Framed under glass to an overall size of 27.5 x 35.5 inches.
