This work will be included in the forthcoming Maurice de Vlaminck Digital Catalogue Raisonné, currently being prepared under the sponsorship of the Wildenstein Plattner Institute, Inc. The lot is accompanied by a letter from Wildenstein Plattner Institute dated February 13, 2023.

Condition Report*:
Lined canvas. Finely patterned craquelure throughout, most visible on the black areas of the houses. A few scattered hairline cracks, particularly to the snow. Some discolored accretion in the areas of lower relief in the areas of thick impasto. An extremely few pinpoint losses. Two small dots of loss approximately 13 1/2 inches inward from center of left edge. Not examined out of frame.
Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly. Brushy reinforcement to the sky. Finely applied retouching to darkest tones in the houses and landscape. White pigments fluoresce.
