"Physician, educator, and social activist, Dorothy Celeste Boulding Ferebee (1898-1980) led efforts to improve the health and care of African Americans. As a member of several civic organizations, she fought to lower the mortality rate among African Americans in southern rural communities. Condition Report*:
Ink on paper drawing adhered to a paper mat with handwritten script in ink. 2 x 4 in. calendar lithograph adhered lower center. Toning throughout the image sheet. Spots of water damage along the lower edge of the mat sheet and the upper right corner of the mat sheet. The mat has been reinforced thus repairing several tears including: a 1 inch tear along the center left edge, a 1/4 inch tear on the center right edge and a 1 inch tear in the lower left quadrant of the mat sheet. Adhesive staining in the extreme corners of the mat sheet. Scattered creasing, most apparent in the lower left corner of the paper mat.
