    Description

    Kiowa Strike-A-Light Case
    Circa 1885
    Length 9 3/4 in. overall
    Length 6 in. case proper

    This typical example is beaded on saddle leather with a central "house" motif in navy blue, blue, red, green, and yellow against a white background. The cover flap and bottom of the case are decorated with tin cones. The laces for the flap are embellished with two short bone hairpipes, tin cones, and a German silver crescent likely salvaged from earrings. The fringes at the bottom corners are decorated with tin cones, brass beads, and brass buttons.
