    Signed lower right

    This painting was published as the cover of Star 4 Science Fiction edited by Frederick Pohl, 2nd edition Ballantine Books, 1972. It was also reproduced on page 90 of John Berkey-Painted Space, Friedlander, 1991, and subsequently reprinted as an interior story illustration for The Cost of Styxite by Geoffrey A. Landis and Jorj Strumolo, Science Fiction Age magazine, January 1993. It appears that this classic image was an inspiration for director George Lucas' conception of the Star Wars Death Star.

    Condition Report*: No apparent condition issues. Not examined outside of frame. Framed under glass to an overall size of 21 x 21 inches.
