A veteran artist, educator, and community advocate, Jim Covarrubias has dedicated decades to documenting and sharing the cultural arts of the Southwest. With an MFA from Arizona State University, Covarrubias founded MARRS and Ariztlan Studios, pioneering alternative art spaces for multicultural expression. His practice blends muralism, portraiture, and oral storytelling to preserve Chicano, Native American, and veteran narratives, making his work both artistic and historical testimony.
