Condition Report*:
Re-lined and re-varnished canvas with slight surface grime and overall craquelure, commensurate with age; 1" dent and accompanying paint loss along lower edge; several minor abrasions and paint chips along lower edge; two tiny paint chips on dog's tail and one tiny scratch on chair, to the right of dog; under UV examination, varnish masks earlier restorations; in-painting along left and right edges, a 1 x 1" region in child's hair, scattered flecks in the left tassels of chair, scattered flecks in the dog's head, two 1 x 1" regions in the chair beneath child's elbow, a 1" region along dog's back, a 2 x 1" region on dog's front leg, and faint evidence of in-painting in shadow beneath dog; overall good condition; unframed.
