We would like to thank Nicole Verdier for confirming the authenticity of this painting showing the well-known Parisian department store, Les Trois Quartiers, on the left, which will be included in her forthcoming Volume III of Edouard Cortès, Catalogue raisonné de l'oeuvre peint.

Condition Report*:
Unlined canvas. Minor frame abrasion to extreme edges. Finely patterned craquelure throughout, with some minor instances of pigment separation to dark greenish-brown tones.
Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly. Retouching applied along right edge to address prior frame abrasion. Finely applied dots and dashes of retouching, particularly to the darkest pigments of the buildings and the street carts.
