This illustration appeared in Edith Barnard Delano's story, Gold Hands.
"'Vasca' She looked at him again. 'You have given me all I know of splendor of glory. Will you give me life?' Her smile was slow in coming, and when it came it was most radiantly tender. 'That would be so small a gift,' she said."
It was also reproduced on page 46 of Dean Cornwell: Dean of Illustrators by Patricia Janis Broder, Collector's Press, 2000.

This piece is framed to an overall size of 41 x 35 in. Re-lined canvas with scattered areas of inpainting in central region, otherwise this lot is in good condition with only normal wear commensurate with age.
