PROVENANCE:
San Antonio Art Gallery, San Antonio, Texas.
In 1864, Dawson Dawson-Watson was born in London, England. Before coming to this country in 1893, he had already exhibited at illustrious institutions, like the Royal Academy, London. In 1915, he began splitting his time between San Antonio, TX and Saint Louis, MO. He settled permanently in San Antonio in 1926 and became well-known for his impressionistic landscapes, especially those containing cacti. Dawson-Watson showed at most of the exhibitions of importance in the United States and he is represented in many museums, libraries, and private collections, both here and abroad.

Lined canvas; under UV light, there appear to be some scattered areas of inpainting in top half of composition, particularly within the upper left corner; otherwise no visible condition issues. Framed Dimensions 26.5 X 21.5 Inches
