On May 26, 1922, Sandzén noted he sent Early Fall, Study of Cottonwood-Trees and Water to Alfred Fowler at the Board of Trade Building in Kansas City. (Fowler was a collector and also organized the Woodcut Society in 1932 that Sandzén supported.)

Condition Report*: Under UV exam, there does not appear to be inpaint. Nail punctures along the extreme edges of the board. Mild frame abrasion. Scattered craquelure throughout.
