Condition Report*:
Wax lined canvas. Buckling to the canvas visible in upper half of work, particularly in upper left and right corners under raking light. Minor frame abrasion at edges. Craquelure throughout. Some scattered small dots of discolored accretion and a very few scattered small dots of loss, some with applied retouching. Not examined out of frame due to size.
Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly and appears to have been selectively removed in some areas. Scattered dots and dashes of brushy retouching at edges and in the sky. A few additional areas of more finely applied retouching to the figures and foliage at left, and to foliage near center. A circle of retouching, approximately 1-inch in diameter and possibly addressing a repair, just right of center.
