Condition Report*:
Unlined canvas with faint supplier's mark on the reverse. Vertical stretcher bar mark at right edge faintly visible under raking light. Slight yellowing to the varnish layer. Finely patterned craquelure. A few areas of slightly more pronounced pigment separation, most apparent in the sky. A very few scattered small dots of discolored accretion. Minor surface dust. Not examined out of frame due to size.
Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly and appears to have been removed in some areas. Finely applied retouching to sky at center to address pigment separation. Some apparent strengthening to costumes of two figures at the riverside. A few additional dots and dashes of retouching scattered throughout the landscape.
