This is a copy of Still Life with Lobster by Pieter de Ring. The original work currently hangs in the Eskanazi Museum of Art at Indiana University.
Condition Report*:
Glue-lined canvas; there appears to be craquelure, minor frame wear, and a few tiny flakes of loss; moderate surface grime; under UV exam, there appears to be spots that fluoresce, most notably in darker background; an approx. 2 x 1 inch section at right bottom edge and another at right top edge; however, a heavy, discolored varnish layer makes previous restoration difficult to discern. Framed Dimensions 35 X 46.75 X 4 Inches
