Description
A UTE BEADED BUFFALO HIDE TOBACCO BAGc. 1870
with narrow pipe stem case along one side, sinew sewn and lane-stitched in various shades of opaque and translucent beads, with geometric motifs, a panel of hide fringe below; and plain pipe stem with black paint enclosed
Length: 18 ¼ inches, excluding fringe
Condition Report*:
Overall good condition with moderate wear and moderate soiling and stiffness. Approx. 2 tears in the hide the largest approx. 2 inches long with old stitching repair. Approx. two tears the largest approx. 1 inch. Bead work with approx. ½ inch square area of loss. Hide fringe intact with some stiffness.
