Description

A SIOUX BOY'S BEADED HIDE VEST

c. 1900

sinew sewn and lane-stitched in various shades of opaque and translucent beads, each side with intricate geometric motifs

Length: 12 ½ inches

Condition Report*: In overall good to very good condition. Hide with moderate wear, including moderate soiling. Beadwork extant with some soiling, no apparent stains. Back interior hide has an approx. 1-1/4" x 5/8" hide patch, possible native repair. All rawhide ties extant, but not of uniform size. No apparent restoration.
