Description

A POTAWATOMI LOOM-BEADED SASH

c. 1890

loom-woven with a leaf pattern in various shades of glass seed beads against a white beaded ground, each end with braided wool yarn fringe terminating in pom-poms

Length: 77 inches overall

Condition Report*: In overall good condition. Beads with some loss, including a horizontal row of approx. 2", a patch of approx. 3/4" x 3/4," and a section of approx. 1/2" x 1/2." Minor bead loss along perimeter. Wool fringe slightly faded with braided tan thread fraying in spots. No apparent restoration.
