Description

A POMO COILED TREASURE BASKET
c. 1905
tightly woven of typical materials over a three-rod foundation, with a frieze of serrated elements set on the diagonal around the body, quail top knots and Mission Bell tag attached, one side inscribed California's Mission Inn, Riverside., the other with ink inscription, Smith #363, HHDX, 75.00 / Pomo, N. Calif.

Diameter: 17 inches

Condition Report*: In overall excellent condition. Rods intact. Approx. five stitches with loss or missing on the sides. Approx. eight tiny pinholes on the sides and bottom. One metal wire pierced through beneath the rim. Some quail top knots missing. No fading. No apparent restoration.
